Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate enters South Dakota

Sioux Falls-based affiliate is the brokerage’s first in the state

Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate LLC announced the affiliation of Sioux Falls, South Dakota-based Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Beyond on Thursday. This is BHGRE’s first affiliate in South Dakota.

The firm is led by owner Brandon Martens and managing broker Breck Miller. They are one of the top producing teams in the state, according to BHGRE.

The Sioux Falls metro area accounts for more than 30% of the state’s total population. Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Beyond will serve a wide range of clients in the Greater Sioux Falls market including Minnehaha County, Lincoln County, McCook County, Lake County and Turner County.

“Brandon and Breck’s combined real estate experience and service to both the industry and their clients have created a tremendous foundation upon which to build their business as the first BHGRE affiliate in South Dakota,” Sherry Chris, the president and CEO of BHGRE, said in a statement.

Martens and Miller say that they are looking to grow the brokerage by recruiting new agents and leveraging the learning and professional development programs offer by BHGRE professional development program, Be Better University.

“Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate’s comprehensive technology offerings will play a pivotal role in helping us expand our support to our agents so they can focus on their core business of serving clients and our community,” Miller said in a statement.

Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Beyond will also be licensed in Minnesota and Iowa in order to serve the tri-state area and further the firm’s referral corridors.

South Dakota has no state income tax and Sioux Falls is home to a number of financial institutions, manufacturing companies, such as Raven Industries and Diamond Mowers, and food processing plants, as well as four hospitals, making it a major medical hub for the region. In addition, an Amazon fulfillment center is slated to open in 2022.

According to local MLS data, the median home sales price in Sioux Falls is $261,000, while the median home sales price in the Greater Sioux Falls region is $265,000.
