Compass Expands With Acquisition of Boller Properties
Agency to attract tech-savvy millennials craving a modern, simpler real estate search.
Owen Boller, the chief executive officer and founder of Boller Properties, announced that he has sold his company to Urban Compass. Boller Properties, a boutique real estate agency headquartered in Midtown Manhattan, was focused on selling luxury second homes within a two-hour radius of the city. The company was acquired by sophisticated tech brokerage Compass—one of the nation’s largest luxury real estate firms. Compass is currently valued at $4.4 billion and is headquartered in New York City.
Owen’s decision to sell his company reflects the shift in the real estate industry to a more technology-driven approach. “Compass is pioneering the way by investing millions in technology research and CRM enhancements that are simply inaccessible to smaller firms,” he explained in a recent statement.
In today’s market, where consumers aged 36 and younger represent the biggest share of home buyers¹, Owen (now 24 years old) is poised for success thanks to Compass’ proprietary marketing platform, his business management experience and shared interests with the younger demographic.
“Owen’s proven talents working with millennial buyers made him the perfect match for our growing team of innovative professionals. We are thrilled to have him,” said Zachary Harrison, Compass’ Managing Director. “Owen is an extremely successful agent who speaks to today’s real estate client, and I’m confident he will grow his business to even greater heights using our technology and marketing.”
As a real estate technology company, Compass presents solutions for today’s tech-savvy buyers, who embrace the simpler, mobile-first approach that Compass’ platforms provide. Delivering on its mission to “help everyone find their place in the world,” Compass is building the first modern real estate platform by pairing the industry’s top talent with technology to make the “search and sell” experience intelligent and seamless.
“Compass provides unparalleled marketing resources, an efficient platform to manage marketing campaigns, and the most progressive technology,” added Owen. “These tools allow me to spend more time embracing my core values of customer service and client discretion, and educating buyers and sellers on current market conditions.”
