Compass appointed commercial real estate veteran Dawanna Williams to its board of directors this week. Williams’s appoint will be in effect on July 1.
“Dawanna has more than 20 years of experience in the real estate industry and a background that spans both real estate law and business,” CEO Robert Reffkin said in a statement.
Williams is the founder and managing principal or real estate development firm Dabar Development Partners. In addition, she currently serves on the boards of ACRES Commercial Realty Corp., Focus Impact Acquisition Corp., the New York Real Estate Chamber, the Apollo Theater, and The Trust For Cultural Resources of The City Of New York.
Before founding Dabar, Williams practiced commercial real estate law for 10 years.
“Their practical, solutions-driven approach to business coupled with their strong leadership team makes this position an ideal fit for me and I look forward to joining the Compass Board at this exciting time in our industry,” Williams said.
This announcement comes a little over two weeks after Compass laid off 450 employees and closed eight offices.
