Redfin adds home list-making tool to Favorites feature

Users can create a maximum of 100 customizable lists and share them with a roommate or partner

Redfin recently launched a new feature, called Favorites Lists, that will allow users to organize the homes they’re interested in to customized lists. The feature is built on its existing Favorites tool.

The new tool allows users to sort multiple homes into categories, like rentals or homes with kitchens that fit the user’s needs, and create lists for the types of properties they want to save. The tool allows users to create new lists and add to existing lists, and are able to create up to 100 lists, according to Redfin.

Nearly seven out of 10 Redfin app users utilize the Favorites feature, according to a statement from the company, and almost 40% of users have saved a list that includes more than 30 homes.

“It’s common for buyers to search for homes in different neighborhoods, or to consider renting in a new place before they decide if they want to buy there,” said Kelly Khalil, a Redfin agent in Phoenix. “Everyone’s journey is different, so having the ability to organize your favorite homes according to your own goals or preferences makes the process easier.”

Users are able to share their lists with others. For example, renters can share these lists with a roommate, or buyers can share their lists with a partner.

“It’s just as useful for a renter keeping track of apartments in different neighborhoods as it is for someone looking to buy their first home or an interior designer browsing the latest home trends,” said Ariel Dos Santos, Redfin’s vice president of product.

The new tool follows on the heels of Redfin rolling out its new energy cost estimates in partnership with energy software company WattBuy.

Last December, the company partnered with AI and machine learning-powered real estate intelligence company Zoneomics to add zoning and land use data to more than 70 million homes in order to “democratize” access to zoning data across North America.

Redfin currently operates in more than 100 markets across the U.S. and Canada.
