Cloud-based real estate brokerage The Real Brokerage Inc. now has an agent count of over 9,000 in the U.S. and Canada thanks to the addition of The Barron Team, which left Compass to join Real’s network.
The 15-member San Diego-based Barron Team is led by Emma Barron Lefkowitz and Brian Tague. The firm has ranked in the top 1% of the 29,000 agents in San Diego County for four straight years and closed more than 150 transactions and $200 million in sales in 2022.
“Emma and Brian are two of the most respected agents in Southern California. They are true professionals and culture-carriers and their addition will fuel immense growth opportunities for The Real Brokerage,” Sharran Srivatsaa, president of Real, said in a statement.
Since joining the brokerage earlier this month, the team has signed seven new listings and brought eight transactions to escrow.
“The real estate industry is rapidly changing and agents deserve a brokerage that is investing in the technology and resources that allow us to best serve our clients. The Real Brokerage is that brokerage,” Lefkowitz said.
Lefkowitz has more than two decades of experience in the real estate industry. She founded Barron Real Estate Group in 2014 with her mother, Janice Barron, who is also a real estate broker. The group sold more than 800 homes worth a total of $1 billion prior to being acquired by Compass in 2018. Lefkowitz and Tague then partnered to create The Barron Team.
Tague, a former naval officer, held leadership positions at the Military Sealift Command prior to starting a career in real estate at the Barron Real Estate Group in 2016.
“The culture of teamwork and collaboration at The Real Brokerage is unparalleled and will enable our team to bring a new level of service to our clients,” Tague said.
Real recently acquired Expetitle, now called Real Title, and LemonBrew Lending, a home loan platform. The firm also expanded into Canada in November 2022 with the acquisition of the Redline Real Estate Group.
The Dean Aguilar Group, another San Diego-based team, joined Real the same month. In the 12 months prior to joining Real, the firm closed more than $425 million in transactions.
Real’s chairman and CEO Tamir Poleg said late last year that the network increased its agent base by more than 108% in 2022.
The brokerage’s agent count crossed more than 8,000 agents last December when The Platinum Group Real Estate Team joined Real, adding 26 agents to the mix.
Real, founded in 2014, currently operates in 45 states, D.C., and three Canadian provinces.
