Team Banx, a top-producing New York-based large team, has left Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices and is joining Compass, according to an announcement on Friday.
Based in New York state’s Hudson Valley region, Team Banx, formerly known as The Home Team, is led by Michael Kahn. In 2021, the team closed 185 residential transaction sides totaling over $62 million in sales volume, making it the No. 11 ranked large team in New York based on transaction sides and the No. 33 large team based on sales volume, according to RealTrend’s America’s Best rankings.
“I believe that Compass and Team Banx have a grounded alignment in our core values,” Kahn said in a statement. “We are both forward-thinking and creative, we put people first, we hold ourselves to very high professional standards, and we both believe in an industry where technology bolster’s the agent – ultimately elevating our client’s real estate experience.”
Joining Kahn with Team Banx at Compass are Amelia Acerra, the team’s administrative lead, and agents Christain Baez, Robin Bermudez, Michelle Burdick, Sabrina Castillo, Kathy Czumak, Corinna Deigan, Ilknur Kimmel, Shirley Mojica, and Anais O’Connor.
Compass said the team will be based out of a new office slated to open in November in Wappingers Falls, New York.
Despite being the No. 1 ranked brokerage in the U.S. in 2021 based on sales volume according to the RealTrends 500 rankings, Compass has struggled financially in recent months, undergoing three rounds of layoffs between June and September.
