With more than 40 years of business experience, Dan Steward joined Pillar Post in 2004, and has since successfully led the more than 600 locations under the Pillar To Post franchise umbrella through the rockiest real estate market in many years. By supporting and extending the continued growth of the company, Steward has contributed to Pillar To Post’s name as the leading and largest home inspection company in North America. The foundation of Steward’s approach to widespread company growth relies on the strength of the people in the Pillar To Post franchise network, and in the quality of the services they offer customers. Fresh technology initiatives Steward has introduced to the franchise, including a host of innovative proprietary software products and field services, have helped advance the Pillar To Post home inspection process and stimulate widespread company growth. In the eight years that Steward has led the company, Pillar To Post franchisees have grown the number of real estate professionals the company has worked with to more than half a million and has completed nearly 2 million home inspections. Steward’s strategy centers on corporate growth stemming from an increase in the number of new franchisees in North America, and on dedicating significant resources to supporting their local market efforts and long-term success. With a strong focus on enhancing the customer experience, he has augmented the value-add services each franchisee is able to provide customers; and has introduced new technology to increase the effectiveness of customer service. Prior to joining Pillar To Post Steward was Vice President from 2000 – 2004 of the Fortune 500 company Iron Mountain Corp., and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Shred-It Group of Companies from 1998 – 1999. He was employed in various senior sales, marketing, and general management positions with Laidlaw Inc./Waste Management Services Inc. from 1992 – 1998 and Sternson Ltd. from 1979 – 1991. He has extensive work experience in the United States, Canada, Europe as well as North Africa and the Middle East. Steward holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a Master of Business Administration degree, both from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario and is a resident of Oakville, Canada.
