Compass aligns with New England’s Kinlin Grover

Kinlin Grover and the Randall Family of Companies, one of New England’s largest independent brokerage firms and the leading firm in the Cape Cod market, has joined Compass, beefing up Compass’s marketshare in the area.

Kinlin Grover Real Estate President Mike Schlott will continue to lead the brokerage as part of Compass’s operations in New England. RTC Consulting represented Kinlin Grover and the Randall Family of Companies, Randall Realtors and Page Taft, in the transaction.

Kinlin Grover is ranked No. 73 of the top independent brokerages in the RealTrends 500, Compass is ranked No. 1. While Kinlin Grover doesn’t fit neatly into the RealTrends Market Leaders report — they operate in areas that RealTrends doesn’t rank — with 4,158 sides and $2.2 billion in volume, this partnership will strengthen Compass’s already strong position in that market. The RealTrends Market Leaders report launches July 22, 2021.

Both companies are part of the elite RealTrends 500 rankings by sales volume and sides. Kinlin Grover and the Randall Family of companies are ranked No. 138 by sales volume in the 2020 RealTrends 500 rankings and No. 216 by transaction sides. Compass is ranked No. 2 by sales volume and No. 4 by transaction sides in the RT500 rankings.

“After meeting with Compass, we realized this strategic alliance would allow us to maintain our company culture while providing the best-in-class agent support, marketing and technology offered on the Compass platform,” said Schlott.

Compass currently has over 22,000 agents, serving hundreds of the top cities in the country. Last year, Compass agents sold approximately $152 billion in residential real estate and completed 66% more transactions than they did the year before.

Under the new Kinlin Grover Compass brand, the firm will continue to operate as Southeastern Massachusetts’ leading real estate brokerage, maintaining its leadership team, staff and marketing with the added resources and technology of Compass. Jeffery Heighton, Compass’ New England Regional President will work in partnership with Kinlin Grover Compass leadership to grow their footprint in Massachusetts.
